Logos

One of my favorite things to create are logos. There is a lot of information embedded and inferences in a logo, that often goes unnoticed at first glance, but subconsciously is ingrained into the viewers mind.

My latest logo creation is for my yoga brand, but I wanted something that could be incorporated with all aspects of my creative production; i.e. photography, desisgn, etc...  I really love this one!!

I also created a logo for my step-son and his new wife that we used to create coasters as party favors for their wedding. This look encompasses the exact style of the reception, and their personal styles as well!

Students Help The Teacher Grow

I'm constantly amazed at the work that any student of mine produces. Regardless of their age, background or content knowledge of the proccess, each piece is such a reflection of themselves. The work is beautiful and unique, and these works continue to inspire my own artistic self. Below you will see a few works of art from students ranging from 3rd grade to the 30's, each work representing a piece of its artits

Art Teaching Interim

Had a fantastic time teaching 6th-8th graders for 10 weeks at West Middle School this year! Not only did this confirm my true love of teaching art, it also made me realize that I'm really good at it! I love being able to push a student to produce their best possible art, and then see them realize their own possibilities as a person.

In addition to the regular art lessons, we also participated in an international art contest hosted by the Mount Gilead Lion's club. Our 1st place winner, Layla M. went onto the state regionals and took 4th place out of 50 other students. That was awesome! Here is her drawing representing Peace; Our world, our future:

Below are the runner's up, as well as a few other projects that turned out great. So proud of these students!

Ceramic Workshop - May

Our first Ceramics Workshop was a complete success! We had 9 participants, and their work turned out beautiful. We created tea light lanterns using the slab method, and used cut-outs, carvings and additions to create our beautiful pieces. We also brushed on the glazes to complete the look. These pieces were bisqued at 05 and glazed at cone 6. I hope you can join us for the next one :) -smb
